Sunday 1st July 2012 - Bolton Abbey, in the Yorkshire Dales

Our next walk is on Sunday 1st July and will take place near Bolton Abbey, in the Yorkshire Dales.

Starting time 10:00 a.m.

A pleasant circuit - 9 miles long; highest point Simon's Seat 485m.
Starts at Barden Bridge, then continues alongside the River Wharf before heading out into the nearby woods and the wonderfully named Valley of Desolation.
Then an easy climb through the grouse moors to Simon's Seat with its wonderful of Wharfedale.

Options to extend the walk (as always !) but will depend upon time, weather and energy levels.

Parking at Barden Bridge (SE 052 574) 2 miles north of Bolton Abbey, just off the B6160 (which is a few miles east of Skipton on the A59).
As usual, a bit of forward planning will help us use as few cars as possible.

Please let me know if you want to come along (e-mail tonyjb@talk21.com or phone 07933 005262).

Hope to see you there.
