The February walk will be Pen-Y-Ghent and Plover Hill.
Date - Sunday 12th February
Length - 9 mile (14.6 Km)
Ascent - 1,760 ft (533 metres)
Grade – moderate (the only steep parts are ascending the final section to Pen-Y-Ghent summit; however the path has now improved)
Time of walk - approximately 5 hours
Doggable – Yes but must be kept on a lead
Café – Pen-Y-Ghent café open until 5:30pm (great for an end of walk cuppa)
Meet in the Horton in Ribblesdale car park (SD807726) - cost £4:50
Time - 10:00am
This walk will take in one of the famous 3 peaks plus the quieter neighbour Plover hill.
We will walk via Brakenbottom and climb Pen-Y-Ghent from the south side.
The views from Pen-Y-Ghent on a clear day will be superb.
Once on Plover hill we will drop off north and pick up the Pennine way path.
On our return we can take a visit to the magnificent chasm Hull Pot (a sight to see), which is slightly off route.
