Saturday 1st June 2013 - Glyndyfrdwy

It is a walk of between 9-10 miles.

It will start in the village of Glyndyfrdwy about 6 miles west of Llangollen on the A5.

there is car parking at ref 149427. If approaching from Llangollen take a right turn in the village marked for Rhewl and immediately on the left is room for 6/7 cars. More could park down the road by the station if required.

The beginning of the walk is well described in John Tranter's book of walks in the Berwyns.

It will climb up slowly past 2 old slate quarries with interesting remains. After that a short spell of good Berwyn heather(!) before reaching the top of Moel Fferna, at 630 metres it is the nearest of the Berwyn Nuttals.

From there we will follow the recently established North Berwyn Way for about 2 miles in an easterly direction before taking a pleasant path downhill through woods and farmland back to Glyndfrdwy.

Please let us know if you wish to take part in this walk.
