Sunday 7th October - Pen-y-ghent and Plover Hill (Ribblesdale, Yorkshire Dales)

Distance:                         Approx 8 miles (mainly clear paths and open hillside)                   
Total Ascent:                   1800 feet
Time:                               Approx  5 hours
Route Description:          The walk heads out through the village of Horton, ascending  Pen-y-ghent via clear path across Brackenbottom Scar.  Some easy scrambling near the top of  the climb.  From Pen-y-ghent summit we then follow wall to Plover Hill. Descend to Foxup Moor then follow path across Horton Moor, then diverting to view Hull Pot.  Return to Horton passing Horton Scar via enclosed lane to centre of village.

It can be busy on weekends, so please share cars where possible.
