Saturday 4th August - the Lake District - a Central Fells circuit

August’s walk will be a journey of discovery on the fells to the west of Thirlmere. A walk of about 9 miles, with a total ascent of less than 700m, this pleasant walk takes us west to Low Saddle, then north to High Tove and High Seat, all with excellent views west to the Derwent Fells and north to Blencathra and Skiddaw. We will return via the two tops of Armboth Fell.

Turn west off the A591 at the south end of Thirlmere and park in the Steel End car park (the first car park on the right). Damage caused by the “beast from the east” has left the road impassable beyond this point.

Aim to start the walk at 10:00am.
