Saturday 5th January 2019 - Minera near Wrexham

The walk in January will be on Saturday 5th starting at 10:00.

It will start at Minera Lead Mine Centre (grid ref 276509) Minera near Wrexham.

It is based on a walk Dave did recently and is nearly 9 miles with  a few easy gradients. Starting a the visitor centre passing the engine house and along the Minera branch railway (1851-1972) and passing numerous lime kilns. The walk will take us on to open access moorland. Although it was misty when Dave and I went there are good views of Moel Famau, Merseyside and Cheshire on a clear day. The return is by minor roads and field paths.

There are two pubs in Minera where we may be able to have a coffee.

Hopefully see you next year!
Have a great Christmas and New year.

Brian
