The August walk will be on Saturday 3rd August and will be around Sunderland point. This is just to the north of the walk we did from Glasson Dock nearly 2 years ago.
This place has an interesting history. In the 1700's It was the early port for Lancaster and many of the buildings date from that period. There is also the poignant grave of a young negro boy who died soon after reaching England during the slave era.
The walk will follow the coast north towards Heysham nuclear Power station(s). In the best tradition there is a convenient coffee break at about 5 miles.
Distance is about 8 miles and more details will follow nearer the date
Cheers and hope to see you there
Dave
