Sunday 8th December 2019 - Jumbles, Wayoh and the Turton and Entwistle reservoirs

Start at Jumbles Country Park, car park.  Bradshaw Road, Bolton BL2 4JP9
Entrance from A676.
Grid ref.  SD 73611  13960
or for practice using  the What3words app the  location is....  kept.atomic.party

Time 10.00

Suggest arrive early to ensure car parking available. There were still some 50mph speed restrictions on the M62.

The walk is just north of Bolton and encompasses three reservoirs.  Jumbles, Wayoh and the Turton and Entwistle reservoirs.

It is a 9.5 mile straight forward walk, lots of flat sections and a few easy undulations through wooded areas and waterside paths. Good underfoot, mostly well kept trails and surpringly little mud on my visit.

Nice pub just over half way  called The Strawberry Duck.
Earlier tea shop if required.  The Reading Room.
I only saw two horses in one field with clear warning signs, the rest of the route was dog friendly.
Cafe at the visitor centre adjacent to the car park will be open when we return.
The Country Park is popular and might be busier on a weekend so car sharing a good idea.
Normally pay and display but ticket machines vandalised on not in operation.
Toilets at start.

Please confirm if you are able to join us.
Cheers,
Brian M (m.middleton13[at]gmail.com)
