Time - 10am
Start location - Timbersbrook car park, just north of the village Timbersbrook - east of Congleton - it is free! SJ895/627
Route - Approx 10 miles walking through a mix of fields, woods, trails and some road walking.
We head off on the Gritstone trail, pick up the Biddulph Valley Way, then go over Congleton edge to Nick i th Hill, then Staffordshire Moorlands Walk, through Biddulph Grange Country Park, then we head north towards "the cloud", where we eventually summit this top and then pick up the Gritstone trail back to the car park.
Terrain - Around 1,400 feet of ascent - underfoot is a mix of mud, wet/boggy fields and some hard pack paths, plus some tarmac.
Views from higher ground and especially "the cloud" are extensive, with views to the Roaches, Peak district, Cheshire plains and Jodrall Bank telescope.
There is a picnic area in the Biddulph Grange Country park for a lunch stop.
The walk is doggable but dogs on leads in some of the fields we cross.
