Starting at Coed y Felin Nature reserve car park near Hendre Quarry. We go across the slopes of Moel Llys y Coed, towards Moel Arthur, past Moel Plas-yw then return via Pen-y-Gelli and Cilcain Hall. Some short sections walking on quiet roads and cross one major road. One stretch of prolonged but relatively gentle ascent - no sections of very steep ascent.
Approx. 1500 ft of total ascent. About 8.5 miles.
Meet at Coed Y Felin Nature reserve car park at 10:00

Head for North Wales on the A494
at junction 33B, take the A494 exit to Mold.
At New Brighton Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A5119
After about 1.5 miles you’ll come to roundabout-take 4th exit past Lidl onto Hall View/A541.
After about 4 miles, on a bend, there is a small right turn (probably signposted Hendre) between fencing with a small green Coed Y Felin Nature reserve sign, turn right here.
The car park is on the left a short way up the hill. Take care pulling onto the small parking areas the recent rain has caused ruts
Cheers, Pete

P.S. I forgot to mention that The White Horse in Cilcain is only a couple of miles away from the car park, so we could head there afterwards
