Meet at the parking place opposite the Ponderosa café SJ193480 at 10am. Parking is free and has room for around 14 cars, plus there is a 4G and network signal.
The walk is 9 miles with 2,100 feet of ascent.
We head over towards the Moel y Faen quarry, then follow the tarmac for a bit, then onto footpaths heading in a westerly direction below the Llantysilio Mountain range. We then start climbing to Moel Morfydd summit, then follow the ridge to Moel y Faen via Moel y Gamelin. We then drop down back to the cars. This walk will encounter some mud on the lower paths, and then as we climb up onto the ridge, we have a mix of stone trails. The views are stunning if the weather is good for us. I could see the Rhinog hills on the recce.
The café opens at 9am if anyone fancies some sustenance beforehand. Afterwards we can go to the café, closes at 4 pm or the Bridge Inn Pontblyddyn.
