Leaving from Grasmere Village, a walk up to the head of Far Easedale , returning via the broad ridge to Helm Crag.

Distance: Approx. 7miles (mainly clear stony paths throughout, limited road walking in village)

Route Description: The walk heads out of Grasmere and follows the valley path below Helm Crag to the footbridge at Stythwaite Steps. Crossing the beck here, we climb steadily, below Deer Bields and Ferngill Crags to the head of Far Easedale.
Here we ascend to the broad ridge, crossing Calf Crag and Gibson Knott before a short, sharp climb to the rocky top of Helm Crag. From here descend to the valley and return to Grasmere village
