Distance: Approx 8 miles (mainly clear paths throughout, limited road walking in village)
Total Ascent: 2400 feet

Route Description:
The walk heads out of Patterdale and climbs on the path below Place Fell to Boredale Hause. We then continue to climb to the trig point on Place Fell (2154 feet).
Continue over grass paths to below High Dodd, then descending to meet the lakeside path above Sandwick Bay. We then follow the lakeside path via Sliver Bay back to Patterdale village.
In Alfreds Wainwrights opinion the lakeside path from Scalehow Beck to Patterdale is “the most beautiful and rewarding walk in Lakeland”
If the visibility is good(!) we should have excellent views of the Eastern and Far Eastern Lakeland fells
