On seeing Environmental Agency flood warnings and You Tube videos after heavy rain last weekend and more rain expected after storm Ciaran we decided to postpone a recce to today. The EA is still posting flood alerts for Dovedale and now heavy rain is forecast for all the daylight hours of Saturday. So we have decided that under these circumstances the most sensible thing to do is to cancel the walk.

Park at the former Alsop station car park just off the A515. Grid ref 156548, W3W /// imprinted.reforming.range
The walk joins the River Dove in Milldale and goes south along its east bank for 2.7 m.
Just before the famous stepping stones we leave the river and go through Thorpe to join the Tissington Trail. We follow the Trail north for 4.25 m back to the Alsop car park.
