Parking is £5 per day payable at Campsite Office. Please park in the overflow car park. Car share if possible.
Free parking is available in a small lay-by, not far from the campsite, but you need to walk down a potentially busy road.
The plan is to walk through the campsite, then follow a good upward track into Dovedale, following Dovedale Beck, past some waterfalls. Under Dove Crag, climb a steeper stony path up onto the ridge. From there follow the ridge to the top of Scandale Pass, then descend the path along Caiston Beck back to the Campsite.
Approx 7 miles. 800m of ascent.
